16 Weeks-Avocado- First Belly Pic

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

Here I am at 16 weeks!

Wow, already 16 weeks...how exciting! Well a bump is definitely visible as if I woke up one morning and it had grown. I bought some Motherhood, Oh Baby shirts and I've been wearing those with my regular pants and bellaband. I had an appointment on Monday, but unfortunately did not get to see bean. I did however hear my little one's heartbeat at 153 bpm. My OB measured and weight me and said that everything looks great. I've gained 2 lbs thus far. I'm counting down until we can find out the sex of the baby but really enjoying my pregnancy every day!

I told my students the news and they were oh so excited. They had some funny things to say as most 5 year-olds do all the time. They asked if I gotten a baby in my belly over Spring Break. Someone else told me that you have to have a big belly when you have a baby in there. And of course lots of suggestions on baby names. Oh and the girls think it will be a girl, we'll see.

I'm really having vacation withdrawals because by this time we usually would have our summer beach vacation planned. We really wanted to do a "babymoon" but by the time the school year ends I'll already be in the third trimester and my doctor does not recommend it. So, I'm going to have to settle on going to Austin for a few days and maybe going to a spa. I dream of laying out on a white sandy beach with an umbrella cocktail and good book listening to the ocean...a girl can only dream! We are however already thinking about our summer trip for next year with little. Maybe the Bahamas or Dominican Republic, ahhh..take me there now!!

Great Monday!

It's been such a great day despite the fact that it is Monday and it's our first day back after a week long vacation. I received awesome news from two very special friends of mine. One announced this morning that she is pregnant! That makes me so incredibly happy because I always wanted to share my pregnancy with a friend. Not to mention, our kids will grow up together-it's going to be awesome!!

Then about 5 minutes ago my other friend sent me an email telling me she got engaged this weekend with a long time friend of mine. This day couldn't be going any better. I wish them all the happiness in the world, yippee!!

I'll be going to my doctor's appointment this afternoon, hopefully I can get a little peek of my precious baby-that would just be marvelous~

15 Weeks- Orange

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now out measure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

This week has been pretty low-key since I'm on Spring Break. I've gotten a lot of my Spring cleaning done that I do every year like my drawers and closets. I still need to wash all the windows but I'll wait for Nunie to help me do that. I was held back yesterday and ended up on the couch with a horrible migraine. I've also been hanging out with Mom and Grandma doing a little shopping here and there. We're doing yard work at Mom's today so hopefully I can get a little color. Tomorrow we're going to spend the day at the Woodlands=more shopping.
I have my next appointment on Monday so I'm looking forward to seeing my beautiful little babe in there. We got our new computer and printer/scanner installed so I will try to scan some of the babe's ultrasound pics on here soon:)I'm outta here for now because it's such a beautiful day outside:)

14 Weeks- Lemon

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

So baby bean is not so much of a bean these days and it's definitely showing in my clothes. I think I'm still really bloated because I wake up just fine and then after lunch feel rather big. This in between stage is a little annoying because you don't actually have a real baby bump yet, but you do look a little on the chubby side.

This weekend I started cleaning the spare bedroom to start clearing it out for the nursery and plan to continue to do so during my week off on Spring Break. Mom, Karina, and I are going to have a garage sale to try to get rid of some of the stuff that is taking up so much room. Grandma is coming in town for Spring Break so I'm very excited to spend time with her.

We've been talking baby names for both boy and girl. We're set on the boy's name but still fiddling around the idea for a girl's name. Gus swears it's going to be a boy and Farid says it's a girl. Either way we'll take whatever we're blessed with!

13 Weeks- Peach

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

My babe is a peach this week, yummy! I'm telling you days and weeks are flying by! Not too much to update other than my maternity pants purchase that I already wrote about. I'm also very upset about the way things ended on the Bachelor...like really really upset.I'm not one to watch much television. I'm not into American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, or any other reality tv show that most people go crazy over. This season it just so happened that I've been spending a lot of time lounging around dealing with my morning sickness. I'd heard great things about Jason since he was the unfortunate dumpee on last season's show so I decided since I had the time I'd watch. I feel so betrayed because I also fell for this jerk and it turns out that he is nothing like the show portrayed him to be. Poor Mel, but I really think that she is much better off without this immature, selfish, and pathetic looser Jason.
On a sweeter note, my craving this past week was limone, kiwi, and mango gelato-hmm my fave! We went to the mall and got some but they were out of the mango. I'm determined to go back this weekend and make my attempt again. I bought a small cup and a pint to take home and eat during the week. This stuff is so good. Other than that just counting the days until Spring Break. As of now we have 1 week and two days left not counting today. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to take the boat out and soak up the sun. This girl really needs a little color on her legs.

My First Pair of Maternity Pants

I broke down this weekend and bought some maternity pants. I was trying to hold out because I'm not even big at this point and did not want them to be a waste when I can't wear them in a few weeks. I still fit into all my regular work pants and trousers but my muffin top from my jeans was just killing me! Of course jeans always fit tighter anyway and I wasn't liking the bella-band I bought too much. I actually found some cute jeans that don't have that horrible "mom" look. These are more like dressy dark denim in straight leg which look super cute with flats. I was afraid I wasn't ready for maternity pants but the size 2 fit just right and I have plenty of room to grow into them. I also love that they don't have the band for the stomach-I'm definitely not ready for that yet! These have elastic in the back that you can move into a bigger size to fit more comfortably. I'm hopeful that I can fit into these jeans throughout my pregnancy. Oh and my mom was so proud of my pregnant jeans, haha...I wore them when we went over for lunch on Sunday:)
