Soo cute....

Just a quick note. I ordered Gabriella this tutu on etsy in three shades of pink with a matching headband. I love etsy and it gets me in trouble every time. I'm thinking this will be perfect for her 6-month photo session. It's adorable:)

To My Daughter

I came across this beautiful song that I want to dedicate to my daughter. The lyrics are beautiful, but the song is even more. I would have loved to add it to my playist but I was unable to, so here are the lyrics just for you My Sweet Baby.

ME by Plumb

I haven't had
A chance to sleep
And when I wake
I wake with your dreams
I guess my pillow
Holds some kind of key
To your peace
Your peace

Me
I wouldn't trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me
I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go
When you need to feel safe
When you need a kiss
It's me

I haven't showered
And I tried to eat
But all your tears
Oh they needed me
I need some time, some time to think
But then I hear you
And what you need is...

Me
I wouldn't trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me
I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go

I wash your face
To make room for
All the kisses
Of tomorrow
And every day
That I get to
Be here with you
Is sweet

Me
I wouldn't trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me
I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go
When you need to feel safe
When you need a kiss

Oh don't be afraid
Cause what you'll have is....
Me

Wow- 5 Weeks

Miss Reese with her chocolate bar, ha!

On Monday Gabriella turned 5 weeks! She's still tiny but I can tell she has grown a bit compared to when we first brought her home. She continues to eat about 4 oz every 3 hours and sometimes even takes more or less depending on her mood or sleepiness. She is still being swaddled at night but has to have her arms out. She likes to sleep with them over her head, its just too cute! She loves playing on her tummy-time mat, swinging in her swing, going on walks, and loves going on car rides- she instantly falls asleep. Its amazing how such a little person has their preferences already:)Her favorite spot to nap is on our chests...aww just to know that I won't be able to do this once I go back to work really breaks my heart. I know I'm going to be so sad when I have to return to work, I don't even want to think about it. I definitely want to be a stay-at-home mommy next time around. Nunie and I talked about this already and we decided we'll wait until that can happen:) I know it seems to soon to be talking about our next child, but we always said we were going to have them back-to back and when Nunie mentioned it the other day (when we were going to try for a boy)this is what we decided would be best for our family. So we're going to enjoy our sweet girl for as long as possible cause we're not in a rush!

Great Fall Weekend!

We had a great weekend thanks to the weather, it was quite beautiful outside! On Friday night we had Corinne, Jesse, and the kids come over for pizza. They wanted to spend time with Gabriella and we enjoyed their company. On Saturday we headed over to Dewberry Farm in Brookshire, Texas. It was such a great day to be outside and enjoy the Pumpkin Patch. Sure, Gabriella is still too young to enjoy this sort of thing and we were hesitant on going, but I really wanted to start our tradition on going to the Pumpkin Patch every year. This was also a great opportunity to take some good shots of Miss Brie. We walked around, I fed the goats, picked out 3 pumpkins (a big, meduim, and a baby-sized one), and fed Gabriella before leaving. Afterwards we went to the mall and walked around some more and then went to Los Cucos for dinner-yum. I even had margarita and really enjoyed it:) We ended up getting home at around 9pm and I must say Gabriella was so good the entire day-she's such a good baby!

On Sunday, it was another beautiful day out and even better because it was just a tad cooler out. Nunie had been wanting to take the boat out and I had been itching for a ride too, since it had been too long. We got my mother-in-law to watch Brie for a couple of hours and Nunie and I took the boat out. We grabbed Subway to eat and took some wine and really enjoyed our alone time for a few hours. The breeze felt great and the day was beautiful (must I say it again, ha)!

It just seems like our lives have so much more meaning to them. Sure, we always had a great time before no matter what we did, but now its even better. Now its just not Nunie and I, we have a beautiful little girl whose brought so much joy into our lives.

4 weeks old!

Sweet Girl,
I cannot believe you've been with us for 4 whole weeks already. I know its been pretty crazy around here as we're all adjusting to our new lives, but so so worth it. Daddy and I are so in love with you. I could never imagine my life without you-you're such an amazing little creature:) I love when you fall asleep on my chest and I can feel you breathing. I love to smell your baby smell and your spit-up milk on my shirts:P I love dancing with you and rocking you to sleep. I love talking in your ear and how you just stop to listen to my voice. I love to soothe you when you're crying and seeing you smile as soon as you wake up. I just love being your mommy Gabriella. Your personality grows everyday, you love to smile but get very upset when you're hungry. You need your food now!
You have officially graduated from your newborn diapers-you're wearing a size 1.We took you out to eat for the first time to Pappas Seafood (one of daddy's favorite restaurants) you'll soon learn to like it as we go there quite often. We also took you out shopping for the first time. I must say, you're such a trooper! We have so many plans with you. Daddy already talks about taking you out on the boat and I can't wait to take our first vacation.
This is just the beginning of our journey with you Brie and I cannot wait.

Love,
Mommy

Miss G is 3 weeks old!

Good morning sunshine!

Making faces

Mommy and Brie

Getting some ZZZ's

Loving the water

Enjoying her bath

Getting ready for bed

Our sweet girl is 3 weeks already-yikes time is flying and it makes me so sad that she is growing so fast! People always talk about how your kids grow up too fast, and as cliche as it sounds, it's happening to me. I feel like Brie gets bigger every day. Some fun facts about Miss Gabriella during this week: She is now drinking 4oz every 3 hours or so, she enjoys tummy time, absolutely loves baths-she sits back and relaxes while the water hits her, she is starting to notice things around the room. She especially takes notice of ceiling fans and the mobile at her Nana's house(my mom). We took her to her first official outing and also visited Target this week, which by the way she did very good! I've started putting the 0-3 months clothes on her and although they are still a little big the newborn clothes were pretty snug. She also visited Grandma Sandra and Grandpa Oscar while they took care of her. Nights are getting a little better. I think her baths are really helping her sleep better at night. Hopefully we can continue our routine bath, feeding, story (cuddle time),lay down for bed.
We are going to take her newborn pictures tomorrow at 3 weeks. I really wanted to do them sooner, but this is the only day we could fit in our schedule. I'm excited to have them already. I bought some adorable bloomers for her to pose in, since I'm not too fond of the naked baby pictures. Please pray that Miss Brie cooperates at her photo shoot:P
In other news I had my 3 weeks postpartum doctor visit and it went great! She was amazed at how I've lost weight and I haven't even been given the ok to workout-2 more weeks to go for that and sexy time..hehe! Nunie and I celebrated my birthday at PF Changs with yummy food and drinks. I was also given the chance to get away for a bit to have my much needed pedi and wax done while the hubbs took care of Miss G. I had a very low-key birthday this year, but got the best present ever-my baby girl!
This is all I have for now, I will continue to take more pictures of Gabriella, but in the meantime I'm going to go snuggle up with her:)

Happy October-Miss Gabriella is 2 weeks old

Gabriella had her 2 week check-up earlier this week and boy is she growing! Her current stats are: weight 9lbs 12oz-90th percentile and 22 inches long-95 percentile-yup she's a big girl! Things are getting easier and she's getting better at sleeping at night (of course she still wakes up every 3 hours), however there were a few nights were she would not go to sleep and would spend 4-5 hours awake. She obviously had her days and nights mixed up, but its getting better. She is now drinking 3oz, but sometimes asks for another ounce to fully satisify her. I was worried to be over- feeding her, but her pedi said to just feed her whenenver she asks for it because babies will know when to stop. She is still in her newborn wardrobe but it won't be long before she fits into her 0-3 months. We've starting tummy time and she is liking it more each day. At first she would get fuzzy, but now seems to be getting the hang of things. She is a pretty strong little girl. She tries to lift her head already and has a pretty good grip on our finger.

Another exciting thing is that its October..ahh the start of Fall which by the way I put out all my Fall decor three days after I came home from the Hospital. I've been burning a Fall Yankee Candle-Spice Cupboard and also bought the Febreeze special edition Fall spray that smells delish! Yeah, I'm pretty silly about these things, but you get how much I love Fall. I look forward to going to football games and taking breezy walks with Brie in the afternnon, which we've started this week also. I baked Oatmeal cookies for my neighbors that brought us some gifts for baby and the house smelled so good, can't wait to get creative and bake some more. And last but not least my birthday is in October-in fact 4 more days!! I'm pretty excited, my mom is going to watch Brie while the hubbs and I go for dinner and drinks. Halloween is also around the corner, I need to start planning our Pumpkin Carving Fest! Its going to be so much fun now that Miss Gabriella is here to join us:)
