Happy Anniversary

Hubby had a great weekend planned for us. He arranged a stay at Hotel Granduca which is absolutely beautiful. I almost felt as if we were staying in our own little apartment in Italy. He even arranged champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to be in our suite once we arrived. Of course I couldn't partake in the champagne but the strawberries were delish!

We woke up on Sunday and walked to Crave- (oops I had Crave twice this weekend), had our morning coffee and cupcake then walked back to the hotel to dip in the pool and sunbathe for a little bit. Afterwards we headed to brunch and then picked up G in the early afternoon. It was a great weekend!

Baby #2 Update

I had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday at 13 weeks 5 days and it was pretty uneventful. I did hear the baby's heartbeat so that was fun (154bpm)! I am scheduled to find out the sex in about 5 weeks so around the third week of June. I am feeling much better and have my full apptetite back, thank goodness! I'm still not showing and still wearing my regular pants, which reminds me that I need to pull out my bella band because in a few weeks the muffin top is not going to cut it. My body is however taking a different shape or better said no shape at all....fun, fun! More updates to come!

Here We Go Again...

Gabriella is going to be a Big Sister!

We are very excited! I'm 10 weeks along and Baby is due on November 16th, making Miss G and brother/sister 2 years 2 months apart. I'm dealing with horrible morning sickness/quizziness/food aversions mess right now but I keep reminding myself that this will soon pass. Keep us in your prayers for a happy and healthy 9 months.

Spring Break 2011

We had a pretty laid back Spring Break. We went to the Rodeo twice, once by ourselves and once with G. Other than that we hung out and took it easy by spending time at home and making a lot of trips to the park.

Lady Antebellum date night at the Rodeo
                                       The "fried" everything stand
Lady Ant

                                          Karina's 21st B-day dinner
Strolling down to the Transco Tower

Daddy and G sharing a bite to eat

Daddy won her a "gaga"( dog in G's language)

                                     Rodeo Time

                                  She's an animal lover!

                                  Silly little guy

                                 The end!

Wine Tasting Party!

After visiting the wine cellars for V-day I came up with the idea to have some friends over for a wine tasting party while we tasted, paired, and voted for the best wine. Each couple was asked to bring their favorite bottle of either red or white wine. I ordered customized wine labels to cover the name of their bottle and also labeled it with a number sticker so it would be anonymous. We bought two gift cards and the winner for each category (red and white) took them home.

I had a lot of fun planning and preparing for this small gatheirng and am proud to say that I cooked and baked everything minus the mini cheesecakes. I made sure to have a variety of foods that would pair up good with various wines. I made shrimp pasta primavera, spinach and artichoke dip, pecan covered cheese balls, cheese fondue with white wine, grape jelly meatballs, various breads with dipping oils, a variety of cheeses and grapes, cheesecake, brownies, and chocolate covered strawberries. Our signature drink was Moscato with fruit (strawberries, pineapple, grapes, and peaches). Everything came out delicious and our guest were very pleased. I also made a list specifying what wines paired with each food to bring out the best flavors together. Everyone had a blast!
